At one time Hannah's family had been wealthy. They had lived in a beautiful house in the centre of Jerusalem. They had had servants and they had lived a luxurious life.

However they lost their fortune through bad investments. They blamed the banks. Since then Hannah lost all faith in banks, so she kept all her savings stuffed in her mattress. It was thought that her savings amounted to 200,000 US dollars.

Her daughter, Esther, thought her mother needed a new mattress. The old one was lumpy and not very clean. She wanted to surprise and delight her mother so she bought a new one. She called a removal van and had the old mattress taken to the dump heap. When Hannah saw the beautiful new mattress on her bed, she broke down and cried. "Where´s my mattress?" she screamed. "All my savings are stuffed in it."

Since then Esther and Hannah have been searching the local dump heaps but they have not found the old mattress.
