A week ago Daniel, a four-year-old boy, was given an eight-week-old puppy for his birthday. At the weekend he decided to play with the puppy in the garden even though it was pouring with rain. Daniel did not care he just loved running up and down the garden with the puppy.

They played for about an hour and by then Daniel was wet through and the puppy was extremely muddy. Daniel knew that his mother would be cross if the puppy brought mud into the house so he decided to give it a bath in the loo. Instead of just washing the puppy, he flushed it down the loo. Daniel's mother was sure it was dead.

She called in a plumber. Using a camera he was able to find the frightened-looking animal in a pipe 20 metres from the house.
